Foresight has articulated six critical challenges that humanity faces which can be addressed by nanotechnology. ACTA’S breakthrough fuel cell technology wins Summit Medi-Chem contract

Acta proprietary nanotechnology has enabled it to develop a new, unique family of catalysts called HYPERMEC catalysts which breakdown the barriers to the commercialisation of the fuel cells for mass market applications. HYPERMEC catalysts use low cost materials, work at low temperatures, enable use of cheap, safe and environmentally friendly fuels and solve other technical issues, thereby creating the possibility of producing fuel cells for consumer products.

3. Increasing the health and longevity of human life

Scientists at the Carnegie Institution's Department of Plant Biology and Stanford University are the first to overcome this obstacle by successfully applying genetic nanotechnology using molecular sensors to view changes in brain chemical levels. A newly published study from the scientists reveals how the nanosensors were introduced into nerve cells to measure the release of the neurotransmitter glutamate, the major brain chemical that increases nerve-cell activity in mammalian brains.
